I'm having trouble with pure data, it just simply not open,
i installed the pure data extended version, i open it, it makes time to launch, i cannot access the application, and then it says "does not respond"
i just cant do anything else than "force to quit"
the pure data only software does just nothing when i launch it.
i wonder if there something i should check or do,
i'm using a white macbook late 2009, intel 64bits with 8go of ram.
thanks

Pure Data Won't Lauch on Mac os x 10.6.8
-
Enter your terminal and type
remove saved last state: rm -R ~/Library/Saved\ Application\
State/org.puredata.pd.wish.savedStateThat should disable autosave Lion's default feature for every application (Lion will try to open any app at the same state it was closed)
-
but i am using snow leopard, i don't have this autosave feature and folder in my library.
-
shit, then I don't know what might be the problem sorry...

Same problem for me as well.
I can not launch Pd, tried different versions yet nothing.
I'm on Lion, but there's no file org.puredata.pd in the
~/Library/Saved\ Application\State directory.Any other solutions?

have you tried the beta? it tries to handle the savedstate stuff itself:

Hey
I had the exactly same issue, pd won't launch at all. I couldn't find any proper solution except people reinstalling mac os x to get it working.
The error in the console is: ERROR: failed to allocate port, exiting!
That comes from people changing the configuration in /etc/hosts
Pd needs the line: 127.0.0.1 localhost
and it solves port allocation and pd finally start!Hope it helps (and it probably is the same issue that some people are having with Lion)
