Rather impressive, kinda crossover between touchscreen and motion tracking, seems precise and cheap... a dream ?

They allow pre-ordering, but moreover they opened a free dev evaluation kit subscription.

I'm no real programmer.
But maybe is there some curious developper on this forum that'll be interested in studying the way people like me will be able to use this controller with puredata !?

I might write an external for this. I don't know what exactly should I output. Because you have 2x5x3 values for tracking both hands. This gives you 30 values from the sensor!

Hi. I already received my unit, and would like to try out this external in Pd. For now I'm using someone else's osc bridge, but it might be more efficient to get this infor through an external?

Could you please give more information about this osc bridge method ?
Gosh! I realize that you probably launch the leapmotion application, but I'm on Linux.
Anyway I could test it on friends of mine's win computer.

It's very simple:

• launch the leap application
• launch the osc application that someone else compiled
• the data gets sent to the desired port

But by looking at the received data, I don't know if really everything is coming through.

It's out now and quite stable. They do regular updates and the basic demos are quite usable (can use the Leap in Google Earth now for instance).

Ok, on the mailing-list this external was mentioned:

I figured out how to build it using flext:

It automatically connects to the leap software and I can get it to spit out data.
Now I'm slowly trying to understand how it works and how the data can be used efficiently. A help-file like mentioned of the 'aka.leapmotion' would be great to have eventually. Maybe with some standard send-objects that can be hooked in to later.

If anyone can try this and play with it maybe we can make a nice help-file with some examples

Any ideas?

Threw the .dylib file into the same directory. Pd then calls the external but then crashes. Any ideas would be most helpful? Would love to get this working!
