Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to use Pd with Jack. A bit of searching revealed that I needed to start jack first, then run Pd with the -jack flag. However, if I try "pd -jack" nothing happens. Do I need to apply a patch?

Also, I downloaded 0.4.0 from Miller Puckette's website, but in the about section of Pd it says 0.38. Is this normal?

Yes you could run pd with jack, you don't need any patch.

1. run jack (i use qjacktctl for start it)

2. Select jack as audio driver

3. It would have make the connection by itself but maybe you would have to make the connection yourself

Thank you, that should prove to be helpful. However, my media list only has ALSA and OSS listed; jack isn't an option. Any ideas what I should do?

You need to compile with JACK support enabled:

./configure --enable-jack

No, it means you have more than one Pd installed, and you are running the wrong one.

Run "which pd" to see where the default pd is, and it's probably best to uninstall the old one (if it is in /usr/bin then use your distro's package manager, if it's in /usr/local/bin you probably compiled it yourself, so you should be able to "make uninstall" from where you installed it, or just delete all the pd-related files in /usr/local/)
