please excuse my ignorance, i'm very new to pd & this type of programming.

i'm trying to control the filtering of audio playback.
I have a band pass filter at stage of the patch just before the hip~ 5 dc offset & dac.

what is the best way i can control the freq &/or band width on the bp filter with a lfo without the filter always returning to 0? I want to control the range/depth and speed of the freq or band width sweep/oscilation.

I think you might try creating a ramp with the [line] or [vline] objects.
You can define a value to ramp up or down to over a course of milliseconds.

[vcf~] is probably better for this than [bp~] for this, since it allows for audio signals to control the cutoff. Audio signals are more accurate and, thus, smoother than message signals.
