Here is my very basic random music patch. Hope you like it. I'm wondering if there is an easy way to get rid of the clicks and pops that are coming from the random [lop~]s? I actually kinda like them but I'm still wondering...

I had the random [lop~]s running straight into the [*~ 0.3]. Then I thought maybe a [delay] and some more filtration might help. It seems to make some difference (I don't think the [delay] is doing anything though).

If you delete the:

[delay~]
|
[lop~]
|
[hip~]

and reconnect the other 3 [lop~]s straight into the [*~ 0.3] you will hear what I mean.

Any suggestions would be welcome.

I've just realised the patch is spitting out these errors:

error: $1: argument number out of range

I hope someone might be able to explain why this is happening? Sorry for all the noobie Qs.

It's because you are feeding a "bang" to the message with $1.

[line] might help you with the click issue. Try to place it between [mtof] and [lop~].

That's true, delay won't do nothing here.

You're getting the error because you're banging a message box with a variable to a line without sending a float.

Thanks very much sinewave and Jwif it's the error is fixed now =). When I get a chance to play around a bit more with [line~] I will.

i suggest you use a "voltage"-controlled filter like pd-vanillas vcf~
or if you need a lp you can use vcf_lp4~ (with resonance:) from iemlib
there you can use a line~ for the cutofffreq and even the q
