Hello, my name is Martin. I am doing a simple PD patch but I have a lot of doubts and problems with it.
What I need is a simple synth to control ADSR , have 4 presets, simple modulation (AM, FM), and include a free improvise composition.

What I have done is this (Please see my pd patch synth.pd).

What I really want to have is something like this:

what help do you want? i just gave it a spin, and the presets bit, and the envelope generator didn't work...but it looks like you're well on the right track. ..well, the prestes bit is going to need a bit of work. ...lots of people use externals to do this, but i still use the same method employed by the polyphonic synth in the pd documentation ( ../pd/doc/7.stuff/synth)

Hi Martin,

My advice is to split your work into pieces like all good software.

1. Create a synthesis (engine/backend) that takes all the programmable parameters/values for making each sound.

2. Create an interface/GUI to control it. Each value should be scaled/normalised so that a range of 0-1 or 0-127 affects its full range.

3. Store "presets" as packed lists of values from the GUI. Use unpack to send list element values back to each part of the synthesiser.

4. Finally, only when it all works nicely as a monosynth, duplicate the "voices" and use [poly] and [route] to distribute score notes to each voice.
