Hi folks!

I'm learning PD and I found some problems with the block output~ that I see in most of the tutorial patches. When I try to use them in my own patches, the output~ block doesn't show neither the dB meter or the Mute button, and it doesn't works neither (it doesn't sends audio output). It's weird because it works perfectly in the tutorial patches.

Any thoughts on that? I'm using Puckettes book "Theory and Technique of Electronic Music" but I find the PD content too slim. Which tutorial/book/references do you really recommend me?

Might not be the same version of [output~] in the docs and in the externals.
Also, make sure audio computation is turned on.
Do copy the one you need and adapt it to your will.

I learned this way. I just opened patches and messed with them. And also this forum is full of very good threads, covering a wide range of topics, with examples and stuff...

I tried to use also your TokyoLive patch, but I'm a PC user and you said it wouldn't work. Indeed, I can open the patch, but nothing happens when play it. Anyway, thanks for sharing, I really appreciate that philosophy!

oh, i can't take credit for that mix. it was done by 'pulsed' .

anyway, there is a version of my live patch which works on windows. you will just need to make sure you have pd extended.
