i would like to have a send/receive pair match up on a selectable arguments but i cannot find a way to do this.

the problem i am trying to fix is this: i have a sequencer that should bang sequences out to one or several samplers. The sequencer will have a send that will send out on something like 1-bang, 2-bang, etc. These messages will be picked up by samplers. i would like to be able to select, within the sampler, the sequencer from which its triggers derive.

The problem as far as i can tell is that a receive object cannot be set to receive different arguments. Here is a troubleshooting patch i put together.

try mux it should be in zexy

Attach a number to each message that represents a channel (for a sampler destination). Send them all on the same wire to all destinations. Then use [select] at the receiving end to choose which channel to listen on. (this is basically how MIDI works)
