i would like to have a send/receive pair match up on a selectable arguments but i cannot find a way to do this.
the problem i am trying to fix is this: i have a sequencer that should bang sequences out to one or several samplers. The sequencer will have a send that will send out on something like 1-bang, 2-bang, etc. These messages will be picked up by samplers. i would like to be able to select, within the sampler, the sequencer from which its triggers derive.
The problem as far as i can tell is that a receive object cannot be set to receive different arguments. Here is a troubleshooting patch i put together.

I followed the excellent tut/explanation linked here: http://puredata.hurleur.com/sujet-1187-abstraction-why-use-etc. However, when I load a sampler as an object and load a sample, the sample table appears in the main patch, outside of any graph-on parent. Just kind of pops out to the right of the object. Here is the sampler object.
First post. I am new. Holla.

fixed it. kinda. there was a post a while back on this. You can declick graph on parent on the actual graph itself. when I use the abstraction as an object in a new patch the "phantom" table does not float around off to the right of object.
only problem - when you open the object to see the guts - no graph there either.
regardless, PD slays.

Hey Obi,
Pd version 0.40-2. I tried resaving the graph on parent but the canvas that is showing up outside of the object is not inside the graph-on parent when I open the object. PD is also printing this: warning: array $0-sample1: clearing save-in-patch flag
