i'm working on a Universitary Project similary to Reactable System (Do you know??)
I have to allocate dynamically PD object; for example: when I put a Oscillator Cube on the table and the PD client recognize it, I want that the system create automatically a obj~ object of PD.

Is it possible??

It is possible, but as Hardoff says, beware.

Here's a patch, by unknown author, that creates continuous controller inputs dynamically
from another controller message.

That's cool. Could somebody explain the syntax for sending messages to a subpatch to create and connect objects? It's right there in the message box at the bottom of dynamic-patching.pd, but it's a little cryptic.

Does anyone know of any open-source frontends/audio synthesis projects for the reactable's fiducal tracking software? I'd like to get one built and it seems silly to re-invent the wheel if there are some floating around.

Can one dynamically create objects, and specify all of the parameters? For instance, create a bunch of toggles and specify their sends and receives?

I did this once - created an 8 x 8 matrix of toggles with dynamically generated sends/receives

I understand the 'pd-dyn_toggle.pd obj' part

I assume $3 and $4 are dimensions, tgl is the obj to be created (duh)

15 0 <--?

$1-$2 $1-$2-r are the sends and receives...

the rest... I have not a clue.

Right the $3 $4 variables are X and Y position respectively.

15 is the size
0 is initial value

As for the other numbers at the end they refer to the other properties.To be honest I dont know whether you need all the other values if they aren't being changed, but I guess if your changing the bg colour say, you need all the values leading up to that index in the list if you get my meaning.

If you get help on the the toggle object theres a subpatch with all the messages you can send to change things. You can also bring up the properties for one of the toggles and match up numbers.

Basically i had to fiddle with values to work out which was which.
