still don't know why sometimes shuts down unappropriately

i just went Media->jack and the whole program killed itself

and the "help" option doesn't work too

is there a version for mac that doesnt' behave this way??

i'm an absolute newbie and even though i've been searching round the net and still can't find how to switch from Edit to Run mode...

what computer you running? IS it on leopard? PPc or Intel?

Latest version of Jack (0.76) crashes Pd. Its a bug and it is not fixed yet* :-/ you can use 0.74 and it shouldn't crash

Help option should be working - this has been fixed for Leopard (the version you have downloaded is the working version)

Edit mode / Run mode - Apple+E or use the edit menu

* I don't know what the status of this is - someone has said that they are fixing it

ok thanxalotot i finally made it to the run mode!..now, what if i wanna record these sounds,is there a way of recording them from inside the mac?...i mean without taking the output from the speakers..

Bu t,I would recommend going through the tutorials that come with Pd. When I started , like you, I just dove in and tried to work things out. I wish I had done that from the start. Learning the basics of pd would have helped me achieve things much more quickly
