I'm having trouble getting [playlist] to function as I think it functions....
when I give it an argument to point to a folder of samples, nothing shows up in that folder that actually contains a bunch of short .wavs.....?..
am I mistaken in thinking this extern is for soundfiles? or am I just missing something.
I have been searching for this problem to no avail so I am hoping someone uses this a lot and can give a clear explanation of it's purpose, the help-file is kind of obtuse to me.

my hope was to use this tool to store a collection of samples to be accessed and played back randomly.

I thought I would ask about this again..
the playlist helpfile is not so clear to me ...
I am curious how I can access .wav files, and how to input them into an an open panel randomly. I am on an intel mac..39.3 extended

hmm, works fine here, same computer, same pd version.

i usually create it like: [playlist all 200 200]

and then send [location /audio( into the top inlet to point to my audio folder.

when you create a blank playlist object, does it list your home folder's contents ok?
