Dear Pure Data Community

I want to send the sound of an oscillator to another computer through my local network. How do I do this without having to enter the IP and port number?
I mean, I just want to connect the oscillator to the network and the other computer should be able to hear it.

@romulovieira-me You can set [udpsend~] to broadcast (255.255.255.255) a stream that any other computer on the local network can listen to (it is in the "net" library)........ but you still have to set a port number to broadcast ...... and you still have to tell the other computer to listen to that port.....
It's networking and how computers communicate. You might also need to change settings in your router to allow it.
You can receive the signal in Pd with [udpreceive~]
I have never managed to get a media player like VLC to decode the stream though.

@romulovieira-me There was a web radio project a long time ago. It is still up on GitHub...... https://github.com/rumblesan/PatchWerk-Radio
There is some Python code in there...... it grabbed patches and transmitted the audio output over the internet.
I am pretty sure the Python code required a server to do the job.

It works with a internet-based server that can retrieve local ip adresses of local clients in such a way that they can then communicate together. You can also implement a local-based server, but you will need to know its IP address.
