question:
does anyone have experience with moving objects with pd and arduino's?
I want to move a mirror and have heard of someone doing that with pd+arduino+??, but I haven't got a clue how to start.
any info would be useful.

You want to move a mirror with an arduino controlled by PD? To start, you need an arduino. Also, download PDuino which is Hans C-S's firmware for the Arduino to interface with pd. The mechanical part is up to you. Do you ned to rotate in one dimension? Move laterally in two? I would guess for a pivot-type movement, linear actuators or servos might be appropriate. Check out:

For an idea of how to interface various components.
thanks for the link.
I'll attach a sinpmle drawing of what I have in mind.
Afaik, servos work on Pulse Width Modulation. There should be some info on th e Playground for this. I think there is a PWM example that comes along with PDUINO...
Is it for a telescope where you want to move the assembly a small degree but very accurately?
If so I suggest using the autofocus drive from an old camera.
Use the Source.
the idea is to put my very simple drawing on top of a beamer pointing to the ceiling (over the lens) and doing so being able to project on all 4 walls around it. the mirror should be at an angle in my drawing, but my perspective isn't all that.
maybe to start with it doesn't have to be that precise, I've got several ideas from then on, so I can work my way up.
