Hi! I'm brand-spanking new to Pure Data (installed it yesterday) and I'm hoping to get some guidance. I've downloaded a patch called Ivertide that in theory acts like a harmonizer (Jacob Collier, Bon Iver) but I feel like I'm in way over my head. I've gotten to the point where upon opening the patch, the log window displays "soundtouch: can't load library", and sure enough, when I look at the patch itself there are a few objects (soundtouch, demux) that aren't valid. Is there anyone out there that can help me through this?

"Can't Load Library" upon opening

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I can't get externals to work at all
-
@egog Do they exist in the Pd Folders as executables? Look especially in the Pd/extra folder for them.
They are probably not there.
Getting externals to work was very difficult in the past.
Now there is a tool included in Pd Vanilla to help you...... called "Deken".
In the Pd menu bar go to "Help" "Find Externals" and then click the "Find All" button.
Installing everything on offer is probably a good idea. But you still will not have [soundtouch~]....... probably...?
More and more libraries are being added to Deken all the time, so you might be lucky..
You might have to compile it for your system. You can get it here......... http://www.katjaas.nl/pitchshift/soundtouch~.html
There are detailed instructions there (for OSX).
The executables in the download link are probably 32-bit, so if your installation is all 64-bit you might be forced to compile from the source code included in the download.
If you can (system dependant), you will find it easier to stay wit 32-bit and use those executables.
They can be put directly into the Pd "extra" folder and should work.If you post (in this thread) all the info about your computer....... operating system, Pd version, etc. you might be lucky and someone might upload it for you.
Do a google search too, as it might be posted somewhere else.David.
