When I use Pure Data with Reason via IAC Driver this message appear: "Computer to slow to play song"

I know, that I use a lot of Reason devices like effects, synthesizers, samplers and automatizations controlled by PD in my recently Macbook!

What can I do to fix that?
Is there any trick that I can use to resolve that?

try increasing the latency in both pd and reason. maybe even 200ms is ok if you don't need to play along with things in real time.

also, are you using just pd, or pd with a gem window running? gem will slow things down drastically.

Have you tried runing audio through Jack on osx? I can get the latency down really low without popping and stuttering.. Maybe if you run Live through jack aswell it might behave better.

For some reason I think something is not right with 'portaudio' on osx as I can't get lower than 22ms without some sort of breakup..

IAC in my opinion is a touch shite - the jitter is is massive, although if you read the Help > Html it says

*1. Timing of MIDI input/output is very shaky. Audio I/O is primitive, but there's at least a way to detect errors now for linux and NT.

I thought Pd was pretty mature in this respect.....anyone know what this is about?

I've used Pd and Reason 3 together without any trouble at all on my off-the-shelf PC-laptop,,... but without any sort of loop-backer connecting the two.

So, its probably the IAC fellow thats troubling you.

Midishare (http://midishare.sourceforge.net/) has been suggested to me as an alternative to IAC

i havent tried it though

does reason have OSC support? if so, that might also be an alternative.

I fixed the problem just doing the upgrade of Reason for Intel.
