I'd like to share a patch of mine. It is still WIP but here is the first working version which makes use of the new draw command in purr data.
It needs some abstractions like 'm_scale' from Rj-lib. I've packed everything in a zipped folder. Would be nice if someone could test it and tell me if it works.
There are also two demo Midi.files included.

@sensn I just looked quickly but the knob controls and buttons work.

So that patch hosts LV2 plugins in Purr Data? Does it use any external libs to do that?

I forgot to mention the most important part. It uses Dr.Graefs 'lv2plugin~' external. So you need lv2plugin~ and it's dependencies (Pure , pd-pure and lilv i think).

The patch is really just a wrapper around that external. It does some dynamic loading of abstractions which load the LV2 via lv2plugin~ and the signal routing . So you have to create those abstractions manually ( I have a patch for that, which I need to clean up a bit.)

Oh, and I had to use another index field in the nested array to do the traversing ( every channel got it's own namecanvas).

Some parts of that patch are a cuple of years old, thats why it's such a mess.
