I have a problem with my counter object as I can't use it in my patcher. Every time I open a new object, it does not take make a counter after typing it in the box.

there's no vanilla counter, so you're probably trying to use an external (maybe [cyclone/counter]) without specifying which library it belongs to, or without setting the library's path in Pd's search paths.
