How can you send audio from Pd to some recording software such as logic/cubase, without sending it out of the computer and back in again?

MIDI should be easy enough, by just plugging one of the MIDI outs to a MIDI in, but for audio of course I want it to stay in the digital domain. I'm sure there must be a way of simply linking up the Pd outs directly to the input channels of the recording software?

on most systems, you can use JACK ( http://jackaudio.org/ )

but on osX i always had more success with soundflower ( http://www.cycling74.com/products/soundflower )

but just for simple recording i always go with wiretap ( http://www.ambrosiasw.com/utilities/wiretap/ )

I'm (sadly~:o/) on Windows, and what I do to record from one software to another is just:

a. double-click the volume icon in the tray

b. set up what I want to record or not in the mixer thing which opens (you can chose recording-mixer or player-mixer from "File>something>something)

c. launch both player and recorder software

d. start recording software first, and close last

e. start palyer software last, and close first

d. clip recorded file down to song start and finish.

No wires. No third software.

From the little time I've had on other systems, I think that should be the case with them too.
