Hi,

First of all, i open jack control, then i open pd and i choose Media>jack, in this moment jack control shows the connections to pd, and then i choose "Test and MIDI audio" but none window appears.

Pd version 0.39.2-extended-rc5 / Ubuntustudio 7.04 / Intel core duo

does it work ok if you just try to open a new (blank) patch?

what about if you don't turn jack on?

what about if you load: .../help/7.stuff/tools/testtone.pd (this patch is the same as 'test audio and midi')

it shows the test patch normally

it doesnt show it

so, the test patch loads fine when you don't turn jack on, but if you use jack, it doesn't work?

sounds like you have a problem with jack...and i'm not surprised because it seems to be one of the most badly designed, hard-to-use, problematic pieces of software i have ever tried to set up.

do you need to use jack with pd for audio or midi routing to other apps? if not, you might be better off running pd audio with ALSA. that's what i am doing, and it works fine.
