100% new to Pd - goal to be self taught

with the patch above I attempt to generate the graph inside of array1

The buttons that I use to message the signal at tabwrite~ and print~ are non-responsive, graphically and functionally

Is there a setting or possible settings that might prevent me from doing this?

@emilledigital Yes....... You need to turn on dsp processing.
Open the "media" menu at the top of your patch, and turn DSP On.
You can send messages to Pd from your patch to do the same...... like this......
[loadbang] will send a bang as the patch is loaded.

pd dsp 1( will turn on dsp
This way you will not forget when you work on your patch again tomorrow!
