first of all, sorry for this dumb question. I'm an Android developer and never heard of pd. However, I need PD (Android-PD) due to its low latency in an Android project.

I have to build a digital piano app and I need 88+ samples (one or two samples for every key on the piano).
I already installed the PD editor and followed some tutorials ... but I am totally overwhelmed.

My question is: Is there a simple way to play/pause wav files with pd?
Is it possible to wrap all these audio files in a zip file and just trigger the playback via a message (like "load and play sample42.wav)?

@Andreas91 It's never mind-bogglingly simple, but can always be done. I think you will need "plain" vanilla Pd (no externals) for use in android Pd, which can make it harder....... but this is slowly becoming easier.
So for wav files to be played and paused.

Here it is a solution for vanilla...... play_pause.zip

If you put all your wav files in a subfolder named "tracks" (I think probably not "zipped") then sending the filename to "track_name" using a [send track_name] object will play them. You do not need to give the extension (.wav).

It is probably best just to number/name the tracks sequentially by note, or you could give them numbers according to their midi note number.
