I am a complete newbie when it comes to pd.

I recently installed it on my laptop (hp 6730b running windows 7 ultimate). Pd works fine, but when I click on compute audio, I hear the generated frequency as well as a lot of popping noises.

I don't know whether there is a misscommunication between pd and my sound card?

Can anyone help me solve this problem?
