@nicnut Thank you for the reply. We are going to try with an audio interface that works on Pi! It may very well be that systems that experience this error would benefit from external audio hardware controllers rather than on-board. Will post result once tested. Cheers

@nicnut Hi - thanks. I've tried every possible audio driver combination available for the Pi except an external hardware interface.

@marivier.rocks Hi - did you get this reproduced on a new SD? I have this problem even after trying your solution. Thanks

bump, bump.
Also having this issue now -
Terminal output:restart alsa output
alsa xrun recovery failed
puredata: pcm.c:1168: snd_pcm_prepare: Assertion 'pcm' failed.
Pd: signal 6I see this bug was posted to GitHub and Puckette said it was fixed but I have latest Pd for Raspbian and any patch with audio crashes Pd instantly.
Thanks -

SOLVED - If anyone else has this issue - ensure you run Pd 'as administrator'.

PD is not saving the preferences. Every time I click "apply" then "ok" after entering the paths and startup flags for the libraries, exit PD and restart , they are MISSING and of course, I cannot access the library objects. This is extremely frustrating and I do not know how to solve this. I have tried moving the libraries to the application folder (.../extra) in both x86 and program files locations and then re-entering the paths etc., they still do not 'bind' and re-starting PD the paths are not listed.
Any ideas ? Thanks.

Migrated to 0.46.7 (Win) and (Mac). Installed deken-plugin which works great. However, when trying to point PD to the folder deken recommends to copy the library files to, PD is NOT saving the preferences. @whale-av Of course : -) Very useful little patch now - thanks again.

Awesome - thank you David! It works brilliantly. I will work on ways to set [expr] arguments via messages - never done that before. Is it possible?

Hey -
Thanks tried that - but doesn't work. The left [moses] (lower limit) outputs bangs for every number up to the initialised argument. So this doesn't help. I need something where there are no bangs for any number up to minimum and then bangs from minimum to maximum number with no bangs after maximum.

Hi,
I've tried using [split], [clip] and operators to solve my issue but the fact these objects will pass bangs no matter what the result is just makes them redundant in this specific problem. Is there perhaps an object that you can specify a range and then the object will output a bang ONLY if incoming messages/floats fall within that specified range?
Thanks

trying to load/import opencv libs (which were working perfectly in 0.42.5....)
/Users/.../Library/Pd/pix_opencv/pix_opencv_haarcascade.pd_darwin: dlopen(/Users/.../Library/Pd/pix_opencv/pix_opencv_haarcascade.pd_darwin, 10): Symbol not found: __ZN9CPPExtern4postEPKcz
Referenced from: /Users/.../Library/Pd/pix_opencv/pix_opencv_haarcascade.pd_darwin
Expected in: flat namespace
in /Users/.../Library/Pd/pix_opencv/pix_opencv_haarcascade.pd_darwinI've triple checked - files are located in correct location...
Never seen this error before... any ideas?

PD crashes when [gemwin] is toggled to render when a natively supported Fire-I 785C camera is plugged in to the firewire port. It doesn't crash if the camera is not plugged in. What could possibly be causing this?
UPDATE: Just tested the camera in MAX/MSP with Jitter and works perfectly... But want it to work in PD!!

When rendering a GEM window streaming live video from a camera, it causes any DPS audio to stutter/jitter. What could be a solution to this? Surely having to run multiple instances of PD with separate patches for audio and video can't be the only way around this? Any ideas please? Thanks!

The developers at OpenCV have recently begun to deprecate the way in which cascade classifier xml files were created to a newer format. PureData has a library called [pix_opencv….] (http://www.hangar.org/wikis/lab/doku.php?id=start:puredata_opencv) that uses the previous older version of the xml. The older version was created in OpenCV using haartraining.exe method, new one is traincascade.exe method. When using the new one, PD crashes each time the xml is loaded in the patch. Is there perhaps anyone with knowledge about this and possible changes to PD that will accommodate the changes to this very important external (OpenCV)?

Can't seem to get 0.42.5 to pick up the pix_opencv libraries. I have installed the framework as per http://hangar.org/wikis/lab/doku.php?id=start:puredata_opencv#binary_package which is Yves Degoyon site. Also installed the libraries by copying to correct folder running under user ~Library/Pd. PD will not create the objects from the library even though as far as I can tell they are correctly installed...
Any ideas welcome
