i want to do sample looper for diferent lenght loops (4, 8, 16, 32, 64beats) and cut to equal parts(2,4,8...) for triggering and synchronize playing to timbase (for different bpm)

i was studying nice max msp patch there wav loops were in waveform object. i like its grid function. i'm new in PD and want to ask about something similar in PD or other decision for selecting slice in loop. i have hardoff patches it is very nice but.

and another newbie question. maybe there is way to use max objects in pure data?

i want send sysex message to my tascam us 428 for controling LED and i know that midiout object works only on linux. maybe someone have other suggetion how to send long integers message as raw MIDI data on mac osx?

i have two problems and i want find answers.

first i have midi/ audio device tascam us 428 and doing with it small project. problem with LED. i try find way to send messages from pure data to us 428. in device manual i read this:

Host to US-428 Messages:
1. UPDATE_AUX_FN_LED: F0 4E<UNIT> 12 0D<AUX#> <STATE> F7
2. UPDATE_FN_LED: F0 4E<UNIT> 12 0E <FN#> <STATE>F7
3. UPDATE_ASN_LED: F0 4E<UNIT> 12 0F<STATE> F7

where

<AUX> is in the range [0...3] corresponding to LED's [AUX1*AUX4]
<FN#> is in the range [0...2] corresponding to LED's [FN1*FN3]
<UNIT> Transmit as 0 for now.
<STATE> is either 0x00 (LED OFF) or 0x7F (LED ON)

well i write UPDATE_AUX_FN_LED message in dec 240 78 0 18 13 0 127 247 and put it in message object. o try connect to [midiout] or [ctlout] but my device LED no reaction. how corect send message out and how monitoring it.

SECOND question. i have diferent numbers from two object. for example from one 13 0 and from other 127. how to do formatting like that 13 0 127. i try [append 0] object but get only floating error.

i need to do message sum. for example i have message 10 i click on it and it prints first time 10. next time i click i get 10 + 10 = 20, third time and get 10 + 10 + 10 = 30 and etc. in manulal i found how to double number but i need other function.

correction. i have two messages 10 and -10 and i know that [f ] save value. how connect all that then i click 10 (10+10=20) and then - 10 (20 - 10 = 10)?

sorry, but i don't understand how to write this line in pure data? maybe you could attach this pd example with simple audio.

i found answer. well, problem is different pure data versions. in pd-extended (0.40.3) [midiout] do not work but in pd-vanilla(0.41.4) works fine. both versions you can find in
