is it possible to take data from incoming audio [adc~]? I want to use the signal from a microphone to trigger samples, but i can't get numbers from anything with a ~

is there a way of measuring audio - it's frequency, dB/rms, duration?

or just using audio as a trigger - can audio trigger a [bang]?

anything you've got on this would be a great help.
