I finally got my joystick to work within Pd. I now want to use it with terminatorX through MIDI. My question is, how do you turn all the numbers from the output of the joystick movement into MIDI signals in Pd? I've heard of using ctlout or noteout, but how exactly do I connect that with rest of my joystick.pd patch? I've attached the joystick patch that I'm using (the J. Sarlos one). I don't know if this is a problem, but the MIDI settings are set to the OSS device, but I want to use JACK. OSS device and none are the only options.

I am completely new to Pd and want to test it out with my MS Sidewinder joystick. I downloaded the HID stuff and now have the Joystick.pd file. Where do I go from here? I just want maybe a tone and be able to bend it with the joystick. I just need to know how to use joystick.pd with sound, and I'll figure out how to do more complicated stuff later. I tried attaching the joystick.pd file, incase you haven't seen it before.
Thanks for the help

I did that and the only MIDI I/O available is still OSS.

Okay, I got it to work with the J. Sarlos joystick patch thing. Thanks anyway.

I'm sorry for the completely noobish questions, but where would I connect the number boxes too? Would I connect them to the autoscale 0 1 boxes? When I do that, I get a lot of errors after pressing start:
/usr/local/src/hid-0.6/hid.pd_linux: /usr/local/src/hid-0.6/hid.pd_linux: ELF file data encoding not little-endian
hid $1
... couldn't create
autoscale 0 1
error: inlet: expected '' but got 'start'Is it possible that it does not have the right joystick. It is at /dev/input/js0, so how would I tell the patch that?
Thanks for all the help
