what a good advice (;
chris told me to try saving the patches on the phone instead of the sdcard.
this works now :: a folder in the root directory of the phone called PdDroidPartyalso i post a message from mxa on GitHub:
AFAIK Android versions 4.1(?) and up only allow apps to read and save data from the SD-Card which are in their folders, which is SD-Card/Android/data/net.droidparty/ or similarthanks to all

thanks for the reply.
but yes i tried with this path (even naming a folder sdcard)..!
see attached screenshot.
in the meanwhile i also tried on other phones with the same result.
is there any way to do a manual browsing to the folder?
or other kind of trouble shooting?
thanks

i found a few related posts on this forum, but none of the suggested solutions worked for me.
the problem seems to happen for others as well.i have PdDroidParty running on my Galaxy A3, Android Version 5.0.2.
i put the test files from http://droidparty.net/ onto my sd card in a folder called
PdDroidParty but the app does not find any patches.
i only see a black screen with "PdDroidParty compatible patches found:"
"finding patches" is performed at startup but the screen stays empty.
i tried other locations for the pd-patches and naming the folder differently according to my web-searches with no success.
any help please?
