Hi
I would like to know if there is a way to restrict the size of a window in PD. -
jjegede01
To explain further i have some pics
1
this is a pic of a voice in my patch.2
this is the array abstraction in each of those keys.
each array has a different name which coincides to the name of the wav file, unless the wav file is unavailable then it names the array the same..but to get to the issue it is when copy the voice for poliphony
must every array in each voice be different?in that sense i would have to rename arrays in each voice.
i have to give in my assignment next week and that will be impossible for me to accomplish.
can i give you my patch through rapidgator because i don't want it to be on here forever as it is my school project.

Is a Table Different From Putting it in a subpath?
so that if turn my arrays to tables, and i have 2 tables with the same name would the same problem happen -

My sampler works fine in mono but when i make it polyphonic by copying voices. pd gets slow and the audio starts sounding like 8 bit.
i also get thousands warnings like "warning: audio/50.wav-arrayright: multiply defined"
is this causing the audio problems in the patch.? -
jjegede01
thank you that helps alot. I've been connecting 300+ wires for 2 days now lol.
Should be getting a lot easier now -
jjegede01
@whale-av (Off topic)
are wires More reliable than send and receives..i kind of look at it like wireless and ethernet...wireless always have problems. am i correct in that line of thinking? -
jjegede01
thanks jancsika i haven't tried yours yet because I'm stuck with something but your method if works is what i want. ill let you know if i come across problems.
Whale-av...i wanted something that you press and all load bangs are sent..

jjegede01
Is there a way to simulate loadbangs without restarting the Patch?
-
jjegede01
I'm making a piano sampler....
i was advised to use arrays or a mixture of arrays and reading from disk.I did what you said and it works. thanks again
sorry..this must seem so simple to you lol -
jjegede01
If i understand you right. Your problem is to do with the fact that you only have one voice. and your patch is not polyphonic. if you are going for true monophonic i believe you need to prepend each note with a note off message.
but a look at your patch may help our understanding

@whale-av hi how can i achieve this with stereo files.. involving pairs of arrays?
-
jjegede01
thanks to both of you.
i am still trying to work out how to implement in on my patch... i will let you guys know if i get stuck -
jjegede01
there must be fast away to create or arrays
and subsequently assigning audio files to those arrays.must I create arrays one at a time?
I overheard a method of completing this involves the text object. but I have no knowledge of this object whatsoever.
if I can get some help in this I will be truly grateful as this will save me a lot of time.

I will give it a go. seems very handy.
i haven't got round to using pd patches like that e.g separate file abstractions. but ill let you know if i come across any problems. -
jjegede01
No worries I have seen the send and receive. its perfect.. thanks again

This is Great.
SO helpful. If you don't mind me asking...
How do you initially create the canvas or how do you know what the canvas is called in order to manipulate it? -
jjegede01
Hi and Happy new Year.
I would Love to know how to resize a canvas using a slider or message..
to explain further.. imagine a GUI with a button called more options but instead of opening a new window it just resizes the canvas or moves it.
Any information would be helpful.

@whale-av
Yeah......i look at the list split help file and I'm still confused. its because i don't understand what it is talking about lol"it is just a list of symbols and can be created by a message like [/$1/$2/dog float("
seee... i don't even understand that.
for me i learn best by example
when you say "[/$1/$2/dog float(
I'm thinking:
what variables?
Doesn't the message box only have 1 inlet?
so how can it receive more than one variable?if you get what i mean lol
@rjp9
would love the toggle abstraction... better than everything I've made.
