    Hi everybody!

Since sometime PD is having a strange behaviour on my pc. del and metro objects often crash (far too often...let's say almost every time). They just freeze and dont output any bang.

I've tried to uninstall and install again several times but nothing changed.

It all started when I was modifying startup flags on pure data (from the list on Pd' s file menu) ... after then I couldn't open that item on the menu, even after reinstalled PD.

I used to overwrite every file during installation, maybe I'm missing something?

    Hope somebody could held

    I'm on a 64bit Win 7

I've tried to build a distortion just using some parametric filters for boost the input signal, and than a clipper..
..but the results are not so good..
    do you have some suggestions?

I havent find any good distortion algorithms on the web..

    is any useful?

do you think it would need too much work?

i'm a buzz user tired of crashes, but the great matilde tracker in buzz really missed me,
so i'm trying to create something similar on pd,
    but
1-cannot find a way to save patterns(i used to write trigger sequences, for playing the sample in array..)

2-I'm getting bored writing $1 $2 $3 $4....in message boxes just for write the pattern in the array

3-I'm not so sure if this work will be any useful...i'm losting FAITH on this.

have you ever created a patch like tris?
    have some suggestions?

    please...

why some keys (using 'key' obj)
do not respect limits like >,< etc..

i've done a patch where I needed that
values beyond some limits should not
to be considerated.it works for every
key values but for CTRL,SPACE BAR and
    some others
    ???

i've some 8 second samples to be played from an array.
some of them makes clicks at every loop cycle
I've tried to add one ore two samples for not to read from the first part of the array,
but i couldnt avoid the problem.
i've also tried to apply a [cos] wave to read smootly the beginning and the end of
the array(like in the help patch B9 loop.smooth) but because of the lenght
of the sample(as I think) the ramp up and ramp down of the amplitude is too
    obvious to be ignored.
    any ideas?

my aim is to load with pd sound samples, looping them and play(maybe a far far day) live with my laptop.
now,i've learned to use -loop - object but i have no idea to what could i do now
    my question is:
how do you use pd for modifying sounds?(it seems quite a wide question, but i
really dont know where to put my hands now!)

if I put an ADC object in pd and I select the internal mix as registration source in the WINDOWS audio setup shouldnt pd receive this input and,for example write the input wave with TABWRITE?
    that doesnt work for me
    is there something wrong?

hi! I'm using the last windows version. Pd-0.42.5-extended... I have installed jack since then, but didn't use. I'll try to delete it and see if it works. Anyway, is seems to me strange that even if I delete (either using the application that comes with pd-extended or doing it from window's control panel) and reinstall pd again same problems occurs
