Hello forum, I'm new in pd.

Recherching my problem I found a thread here from 2009 where the tilde was not available for pd on a Mac.

Same now on a Thinkpad T410 with Ubuntu 11.04 amd64. pd-extended 0.42.5, all seems to work fine but this issue.

Tilde is available for all other applications on this notebook. It's possible to copy and paste tildes from textfiles to pd-objects, but this workaround is a funkiller.

On a desktop pc with identical Ubuntu the keyboard's tilde works fine in the identical pd-extended version.
I tried out different kb-layouts, changing the tcl-version by alternatives-configurator and hacking .Xmodmap, but till now no success.

I'll be thankful for any suggestions

I'm going more and more from midi to internal dsp, so this bug really touches me evil. Everytime I touch the toggle in the green dsp field, all freezes, I loose all changes after last save and have to build up my complete actual project new from this point. This happens even if I have stopped all output and closed all windows.
I'm on 64bit up to date ubuntusystems in different hardware and this issue is reproducible in all 64 bit(32bit I did not test) pd-extended and vanilla versions since 0.42.5 and ubuntu combinations.
I'd appreciate any hint

Found it out myself:
Uninstalled ibus, now all keyboard inputs are transferred to puredata and I realise no drawback elsewhere.
