hello
here attached my big patch with 5 audio inputs and outputs which are controlled through a 6ch external sound card. the entire patch controls an interactive sound installation with 5 vibration sensors which initiate each audio file uploaded into the patch in order to playback pre-recorded sounds in 5 different loudspeakers
at the beginning the system does work well, then I started to notice any signals/numbers when iteracting with the bonk object, the pacth does crash very often as soon as I change something on the settings or console audio, and I have to restart the sound card or the computer machine in order to get the system work again (except the IN/OUT signals which is not showing up)
very annoing and there is something strange that I cannot figure out what it is. please check the patch and tell me what you encouter when open it
thanks

Hi,
I cannot figure out why the system palybacks sonly a few minutes of the entire sound file. I also would separate each sound into each ~dac in order to separate the final outputs but it doesn't work out as I expected.
Here the patch.
Cheers,
Betta.

hi again,
here the patch i did for the installation.
the main issue is that the pre-recorded sounds are playbacked at all times instead of trigger only trhough the bonk~ object by using 6 contact mic as sensors
please if somebody could help me it would be great, because the piece should be work by the end of tomorrow evening
many thanks,

Well,
I'm preparing an interactive piece consisting basically in four inputs (contact mics) which detect and control four different incoming sounds through the bonk~ object. The problem is that with two inputs is fine but with four there is trouble in loading the audio files and also pick up the sound by touching each mic.
I have and external soundcard (M-Audio Fast Ultra Track) connected to my mac book pro 15" with the four inputs / amplifier with two loudspeakers. .
It's my first sound installation and I should be set up it by the 15th June. Please help me, possibly!
Please find the attached pd patches - 2-4 inputs..

Hi,
I have had pd crashes very often working on my mac book pro and pd-extended. It seems frozen and it happens with simple/complex patches. The thing is that I need to force quit and relaunch the appl each time but the activity window didn't say anything about (not responding for example). As I'm working on a interactive sound installation I'm trying to figure out what happens and sort out the problem but I can't at the moment.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please answer to this post.
Thanks,
Betta.

i didn't used subpatch, eventually. i've organized better all the objects and add two more inputs but the problem is still persisting.

Well.
I am using Mac OS X 10.5.8. My machine is a Mac Book Pro 15" (3 years and half old). Yes I have installed the very latest beta version now and I have the same trouble.
Oh Yes I have connected an external sound card (M-AUDIO FAST TRACK ULTRA) a couple of weeks ago (and seems to be ok even tough sometimes it chrashed again) but now I'm working with the 'bult-in' one again.
Arghhhhhhhhh... my brain harms!
Thanks!

Yes sure I'll do it!
Now I'm thinking about the final output, maybe a guitar amplifier with built-in speakers?!??!? I really don't know...

That's great!
I've tested the whole system so many times and now it seems to be alright!
many thanks for your help

Hi,
Thanks for your answer.
Oh Yes sure.
The thing is that I got the four signals from the soundcard when I touch the mics but when I load the soundfile from openpanel/soundfile I can do this just for the first input, and it works good.
The trouble is when I try to load the others sounds file to the others three ones from each openpanel/sounfiler. Infact Pd still contiunues to load the sound in the first one.
I can't figure out what's going on.
Cheers
