    hi forum,

    i have a patch which is made to be play 240 files, choosing 3 random stereo samples each time a camera detects something. each stereo file has a duration of 30 seconds, and i use readsf~ to play them.

    but i'm getting too many open files dsp error, after 50 sample are played. what should i do about that ? i'm reading the files from a text. could anyone help?

    hi all,

    me and a friend of mine are working on a project which i had problems with, before. we used to have some cpu problems, but thanks to the forum, we managed that.

    now we have a different problem. the project is simply about triggering audio/visual with movement detection, by a simple web camera.

    when a video starts, we see the last frames of that video first, then it starts.
    we use some delays, when it's night we play the videos 3sec after the audios start.
    it's a project that changes in day time, in every 3 hours videos and audios change.

    if someone is interested in helping me, s/he can change the names of audios or videos with the names in the textfiles. that should work to see what's happening there.

    hi forum,

    i have a patch that doesn't work on my laptop pc. i'm working on a compaq laptop with 2.1 GHz Amd Turion Dual Core processor and 3 gb ram. i have vista installed.
    the patch that i'm sharing with some of its audio/video content is working on my macbook pro, and some older intel machines which have almost the same configurations with this compaq.

    my pd version is 40,3 extended.

    it's a patch for an installation. webcam detects the movement and bangs to play 6 channel audio and a video. there are some random calculations. i don't know what else i can tell about it.i uploaded it onto rapidshare. if you have time,could you have a look at it ? any comments and help to solve this problem is very appreciated. thanks.

    hi al, this is my first post and first patch. i'm trying to use a movement, captured by a webcam, as a trigger in order to play sounds. i want to track only the horizontal changes, like from left to right and use that information as a trigger, bang. i know that there is too much information, and i should filter these also. sel object seems useful. i checked the motion detect patch in pd, but i need someone's help and ideas on how i can modify it.

    hi Maelstorm, thanks for your quick response. i'n on vista :( and when i said 50 samples, i meant 50 stereo files. i've seen terminal commands to extend the limit, as you already said. maybe there is a command for vista, or it's within PD.

    i uploaded my patch with some audio and video materials, that's why it's so big. i needed to do that to make sure they don't cause any trouble, maybe it's them, i'm not sure.

    yes, arif, it is. but now, i had a diferent problem, like, i'm getting so different and sometimes useless numbers in different lights. maybe it's because, i have a bad webcam. i changed the threshold of the pix_movement object, but it has to be reconfigured every time i open up the patch.
