hello, i am still getting to grips with PD, but have only been exploring the midi/audio side of things and i am interested in creating a simplistic visualization patch that responds to audio input along the lines of this:

the atari video music from 1976!
unfortunately i dont really know where to start looking to learn how to create something along these lines. any chance anyone could suggest any patches to look into, threads to check out, websites, tips or anything that might be useful?
