My current project requires specific knowledge of pd (and Gem I suspect), which for me is mysterious & hazy at best.
Essentially I'd like a range of real time motion sensor data to trigger playback of sound files.
So... data range type 1 will trigger sound file 1, data range type 2 will trigger sound file 2 and so on...
Is this possible using only PD/GEM? If so, does anyone know of a patch that does this or something similar?
If not, is it possible for someone to at least point me in the right direction? I've started by trying to play a sound file manually using readsf~ but that has failed with this forum as my last bastion of hope...
Thanks in advance...

I want to play .aif file located in the pd/docs/sound directory in my progam files (PC)
So I plugged this in:
[open open C:/ProgramFiles/pd/doc/sound/clap.aif]

|
|
[readsf~]
|
|
|
[dac~]And it comes up with "error: dsp: C:/ProgramFiles/pd/doc/sound/clap.aif: No such file or directory"
Is there a certain way of specifying the directory, or have I got the patch completely wrong?
Apologies for the complete freshness of my question.

yes that was a typo sorry.
and thanks for that, I moved the file into a directory without spaces (C:/bak/clap.aif) and it worked perfectly!

Wicked, thanks a bunch.
The effect I wanted was for track-1 to play when there is high velocity and track-2 to play when there is low velocity picked up by the motion sensor.
Disregard if I'm still not making sense!
