Hi everybody, I'm used to create Pd externals with Faust, but just in the last month I noticed that when I try to use more than one object made with Faust, Pd crashes. Then I cannot use multiple extensions developed with Faust. I think that it's not normal, also because I read some papers about Faust and Pd (http://faust.grame.fr/index.php/documentation/papers/29-lac2007-art), and I figured out that is possible to use multiple Faust extensions at the same time (in fact he problem is I could try to use different patches, but I get the same result). anyone has the same problem? or just anyone who can help me?

I forgot to specify that the problem occurs when I use more than one Faust Pd object, but I mean two or more different objects. If I want to use, for example, the one that I posted, and I want to create several instances of that, there's no problem. And I also forgot to specify that I'm working on a Linux machine, with Ubuntu Studio 14.04.

In that case, could you upload a second object or point me where could I download a second one? I can test loading them two on my Linux machine and see how it goes.

Of course, you can go here http://faust.grame.fr/ and you can use the "online compiler", there are several examples that you can compile for Pd.

Ok, so I tried a bunch of faust externals and Pd always crashes when a second different external is added to the patch (same behaviour as you described). I am on Linux 64-bit, and I tried to add two different externals using Pd-extended, Pd vanilla and Pd-l2Ork, all of which crash. Running pd-extended via the terminal, I get a Segmentation fault error on the moment it crashes.

Did you try contacting the guys from Faust? If this problem is affecting multiple users then they probably know about it. Try using their mailing list http://faust.grame.fr/index.php/support

Alternatively, you may want to try using Pd's mailing list (that's where all Pd gurus live): http://lists.puredata.info/listinfo/pd-list

I can not confirm this problem.

Tried on ubuntu 14.04LTS 64bit, with [oscrs] and [moogVCF] compiled for 64bit.
Pd was 0.45-4 from ubuntu repo.
Didn't test it too much. but the externals both load and there is sound.

@pulsed Interesting. I tested it with an external from Faust website and the other from the original poster, so maybe there is a problem with his external you think? I will try it with two externals from the Faust website later.

I tried to "recompile" my external with the Faust web compiler and I discovered that, without modifying anything in my code, the objects work well. I just recompiled them, nothing else. Honestly I don't know what's happened before. I attacched the new "phasahor~" object.

I can reproduce it. Objects made with Faust crash PD when using multiple instances. Also, when adding two (different) objects to a patch, signal goes through only one.
