This is a composition that I´ve done entirely with PureData extended as a project for the University. The composition is mainly constructed based on an L system and it aims to work with large atonal sound masses. All the synthesizers are essentially sawtooth waves with some added effects.

Some parameters in the composition are randomly selected by the computer according to the proposed L system.

Thanks for sharing your composition, it sounds very interesting to me and I think you've got some very beautiful sounds there (quite nice to be able to produce them using only sawtooths + some FX). I'd like to ask you how are you using the L system - which parameters are being affected by it exactly? Could you describe a bit better your compositional process in this piece?

@gsagostinho Thank you for your comments about the music. About the L system, it was chosen the simplest one 010 where 0 leads to 01, and 1 to 0. The next iteration (01001) was the one that is mostly present in the composition.

The first part that last until 1:48 min approximately the L system is present by way of contraction of the chords (0) and expansion (1). The chords itself are not chosen randomly by the computer, let's just say that I manually choosed them respecting the 01001 pattern.

The next part which starts aproximately at 2 min and last until 3.25 min it is a sawthoot wave modulated and again the 01001 is present which 0 means descend and 1 ascend in the index of modulation.

The middle part where the single sawthoot wave is making its solo the 0 means descend and 1 ascend in frequency. And the other chords are controlled by the same rule of the very first part of the composition.

The last part which starts around 5.14 min has an algorithm to generate sound until it starts to make foldover which randomly selects pitches respecting the pattern 01001, with 0 descend and 1 ascend.
