As the title says, I am unable to make an array's name hidden even after selecting the option to in its "Properties." Instead the name will just gray out and won't disappear. Anyone else having this problem?

Maybe you're right, they they always want to be in the spotlight.

Now do the opposite...try with a little black canvas .That will almost do the trick...the moment you'll load a sample, the name will get black, but it won't be visible (against the black canvas). Magic...

@LandonPD Lo-fi hack it is! So the "hide name/argument" checkbox in the array canvas dialog is essentially useless?

I can only say it is useless for hiding the name of the (Put menu) Array...which is, in fact, a garray.

Is there another visual way to integrate arrays into a patch without encapsulating them within a graph?

I don't think so, those things cannot be accesed directly.

An alternative (clumsy) way is to increase both bounds and size, leaving the array as it is. The garray (which is the baseline, or waveform, representing the array) will seem to float in your canvas as if it weren't included in a graph (rectangle)...but it is included.

This is already quasi solved, but here's an alternative. Use a non-breaking space (one or many) as the name of the array. In this way, the name of the array becomes invisible.

But, if you really need $0- , then a non-breaking space is usless.

It was @xbarbie who taught me about the usefulness of non-breaking space...but I've been applying that everywhere...killing all underscores mercilessly (well, not all of them). Yes, as time passes, you'll find it more useful than you can imagine.

By the way, besides naming one of the arrays with an invisible non-breaking space, and another with two non-breaking spaces, and so on, there's sthg different that you could do in case you really needed a $0-.

This other idea is about having a small canvas that dynamically updates its colour every second, or every few seconds. In this way, it will always work once a second trying to hide any array name. I haven't tried this. Now it's up to you to be the pioneer!
