Here is a simple patch that saves the state of its elements, so next time you will open it all its values will remain the same as before:

Note that all three objects have set their Sends and Receives via their properties (right click on them) as to match what I use below them (that is, $0-<object>-in and $0-<object>-out).

I just learned that sliders, knobs and number-boxes have a built in option for doing this, called "init", accessible under the properties menu. Is this common knowledge? It seems that I often hear talk of PD not having built in state saving capabilities, but there it is right under our noses.

@LiamG oh, you are completely right! Indeed sliders and knobs have such property (I somehow turned a blind eye to it). Also note that the only number box that have this property is the [nbx], not the one that can be created via Ctrl + 3

yes, the "init" option is quite common.
If you need some more states to save, I would recommend mmb's state save abstractions:

@bang Hi and thanks for the link, I will have a look on those soon. You know, part of my confusion about the "init" option was because I started patching with Max MSP before completely moving to Pure Data, and in Max you can set an initial value for those GUI elements (that is, they don't start at 0 nor at the last value you input, but rather a predefined initial value).
