Ive had a look around online and cant seem to find info on how to use bundles in PD and have come to a blank. I want to be able to write the following message to two different tables. They are two different messages.

print: /rhythm 2 -1 -1 1 1 1 -1
print: /melody 0 1 1 0 0 0 -2

Can anyone help me do this?

If you are using pd-extended, you can use [tabset] to send a list to a table. See this little patch I prepared for you: patch.pd

I am using Pd extended but it doesnt seem to recognise tabset. Thats okay though, because if Pd interprets those messages as arrays then I can use them easy enough, I was just confused because I wasnt sure how Pd handled those messages in the first place.

Okay so I dont know whats wrong, but basically I cant manually make extended objects, I have to actually find their reference, and then copy and paste the objects from that.

I am glad I was able to help you. About your problem, that is indeed very strange. Which OS are you using? Did you move the pd-extended folder after installing it? All these libraries are located inside a folder named "extra", which is by default on Pd's path (meaning that they should automatically load when pd-extended opens). I would suggest that you try installing pd again, since this is a very simple procedure and it may be much easier and faster than troubleshooting what is wrong with your install.

And just to be sure (silly questions, but you never know...): are you sure you are typing the name of the objects correctly, including any capitalization? Are all extended objects affected, only some libraries or only some few objects inside a library?

You don't need an external to write a list to a table. You can do something like :

[0 2 -1 -1 1 1 1 -1(
|
[s rhythm]

[0 0 1 1 0 0 0 -2(
|
[s melody]

The 0 at the beginning indicates which index to start from.

Alternatively you can do the whole thing in a single message:
[;rhythm 0 2 -1 -1 1 1 1 -1; melody 0 0 1 1 0 0 0 -2;(

Fantastic! I have been using Pd for a while, but I never realised you could simply send values to a table like that (I always used [tabset]). Thanks for pointing this out!
