Hello,

I'm new to PD and am interested in using range finders in a project. I know that it is a simple affair to hook up an IR Sensor but that it's far more difficult to get the ultrasonics, such as the ones by Parallax, to play friendly with PD. In my research I came across the Maxbotix, which is supposed to be easier to use (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/639). The interface output formats included are pulse width output, analog voltage output (Vcc/512 volts per inch), and serial digital output (9600 baud). Does anyone have experience with these? Are they plug and play with pduino?

Hello! This is Tom Bonar from the MaxBotix Inc., Technical Support Team. I saw your forum post and I wanted to give some information regarding our sensors when being used with the PDuino.

From what I have seen on the web, the PDuino uses the same code that an Arduino would use. This makes our sensors installation very easy. If you would like code examples or wiring instructions for your MB1010, please see our Arduino tutorial at http://www.maxbotix.com/articles/085.htm

There is a section entitled "LV-MaxSonar Code Downloads" that has code examples and wiring for your sensor.
