Hi, I'm pretty new in puredata. In fact, I've recently installed it.
Since I've done it, I cannot obtain any MIDI sound interpretation with makenote and noteout.
Since I start puredata I get an A/I ERROR, and the following message: could not open midi input 1 (Driver IAC MIDI_inC): PortMidi: `Bad pointer' , is displayed in the console.
I'm working on a mac and I have macports installed. Does anybody have experienced something like this and has any information about?

Are you using Mac's IAC driver to transfer MIDI between different software on the computer, or are you wanting to send out to external MIDI device?

If the latter, check that you've selected your external MIDI interface (and correct port) as the output device in the MIDI Devices dialogue box, and perhaps unselect any MIDI In devices you may have, for testing.

If you're using the IAC driver then I'm afraid I can't help you much because I've been struggling for months to get the IAC driver to work between Logic and PD or Ableton and PD. I get the error message 'MIDI FIFO overload' all the time!
