Hi,
I'm wondering if there is a Linux distribution which could ease my way, since I'm new to linux. I've found PUREDYNE to include much of the media and interaction stuff I might need, however the newest version seems to be from 2010.

Any newer alternative?

In case I stick with PUREDYNE, would it be easy to update?

How about performance when running from an USB Stick?

My Machine is an ASUS N76V (i7 + NVIDIA GT650M)

It seems that Ubuntu Studio can also be used as live session:

Instead of burning to cd/dvd it should be possible to copy the image onto usb. I've done that for Xubuntu and Kubuntu at least. I'm not sure about performance in general, but Pd loads most of the data and executable code in memory (except the things you do with objects like [readsf~], [writesf~]), meaning it makes little difference for performance once you've loaded a patch.
