As the title says, the object [keyup] is repeatedly outputting the code of a key, when you press and hold a key.

I would expect for keyup to ONLY output the code on .. you know... key UP

yeah, so read the rest of those reports:

"this is probably a feature of your OS ("key repeat"), where a held-down key keeps re-triggering after an initial timeout (so that if you want to type "oooooooooooooooooooo" you don't have to press "o" 20 times). it does so by simulating a repeatedly pressed key, so Pd really doesn't know that the key was not released at all.
check the documentation of your OS how to turn this off."

I did read, but also read in the older report:

This is a bug because the auto-repeat behavior is different on each platform. Not only I consider this a bug, but Miller as well:

Not really, for various reasons, i.e. if you want to detect keyup of a certain key, more than once, second time it just does not go trough. Or how do you suggest to use it ?

I don't know. Even using [key] instead of [keyup] does not help.

On linux

In a terminal type <xset r off> to turn of keyrepeat for this session. <xset r on> to turn it on.

works for me on windows.
