I'm trying to find the % of a frequency to use in a project of mine, as I need to convert another value to a percentage. the problem with this is, frequencies increase exponentially at a ratio of 2:1, and I have no idea how to find out a percentage this way (the only method I know is 'A divided by B times 100') instead, I will need to find a percentage of 40hz out of 2000hz for example, which requires a more specific calculation, compensating for the exponential change. from a would anyone be able to help?

convert to midi numbers using [ftom], then you can just do your simple (a/b)*100
