I very interested in fractal math vs normal geometry. If anyone doesn't know a fractal is basically a mathematical equation found in many many places in nature.

So does anybody know how to program fractals in PD/GEM. In its rawest form a fractal is only a mathematical equation, so it can't be to hard to program in GEM.

I was looking, and didn't find anything.

combining [translate] [rotate] and [scale] with [repeat] yields fractal generation in GEM. There is an awesome tutorial with DNA in it somewhere on these boards.

I did some stuff with IFS (iterated function systems) a while ago, and some chaotic attractors. The issue with fractals is that they are, of course, infinitely complex. It is much easier to generate complex systems with inside a raster than with gem.
