hi probably fairly simple fix, but i was checking how i would have mulitple adc~s to read to seperate forms of data, then feed the modulated data to one dac. so adc 1, adc 2 and maybe onwards..
would i need an external soundcard to do this? or is there a simpler method? working off a MacBook Pro

well, if you want to go further than adc~ 1 and 2, then yeah, you need a multi channel soundcard.

but, maybe there is some workaround possible with just the inbuilt soundcard.

what do you want to do exactly?

just to basically have two separate audio input, and have that data interact for an overall output. so two lines-in and one line out

adc~ and dac~ are both stereo by default. for just one line out, all you have to do is send your modulated mono signal to both channels of dac~
