In the past I've used Max/MSP but I've decided to convert to pd as I can't afford to purchase Max. In Max it's possible to set up statements like: "If $i1 == 1 then out1 bang", I found these a great help whilst programming patches however I can't seem to find anywhere I can input such a statement in pd, is it possible to create object boxes that work like this?

check the help on expr you could make test like that

If you're doing that at control rate you could produce the same effect with:

[== 1]
|
[select 1]
|

which will produce a bang when the input is equal to one.
