Hello,

Firs of all: is there anyone who got install GEM (not extended releseses of pd) in G4 with Mac OS 10.3. How do you made it? Please, explain me.

Now, i will explain my steps (maybe someone can find some error in my installation):

in order to install Gem at a G4 1,5 GHz with 10.3.9, im following the
instructions that come in GEM.README.

• Following the part wich say "do it by hand" i have the next structure:

Applications\pd\extra\Gem.pd_darwin
Applications\pd\extra\help-Gem
Applications\pd\Pd-0.39

• I have found "Gem.pd_darwin" in "gem-0.90.0-OSX-G4-bin.tar.gz"
• "help-Gem" is a copy of "help" folder that comes inside of
  "gem-0.90.0-OSX-G4-bin-doc.tar"

Then, I launch Pd from the Terminal with this command:

open Pd-0.39 -lib Gem

which opens pd, but without any message about Gem.

I have tried with -verbose but nothing happens

I am curious why you don't use Pd-extended? Gem is included and works on 10.3.9.

right outlet doesnt send anything when the movie finishes.

Doesn't matter. Take a look at that abstraction i made. If you can't make sense out of it just ask me (nordbaer ät gmail.com). Right-click [pd movie] inside the abstraction. It plays the movie frame by frame with a metronom. I did that because i wanna have an exact control over wich frame is played right now.

The version of gem included in the extended is 0.91. You can't get that compiled yet for os x.
Try [pix_movie] if you get the same behaviour.

btw: it works at mine if i try it. Maybe [pix_film] has a problem with the codec of your movie you load. So it can't read the lenght and all that. I'm on a G4 PB with an unaltered PD version from here: http://idmi.poly.edu/pdlab/Pd-0.39.2-extended-test5.dmg.

If you stil wanna do it by hand: get that file org.puredata.pd.plist located in ~USER/Library/Preferences into you Texteditor and add:
<key>loadlibNEXTFREENUMMER</key>
<string>gem</string>
