I wrote a topic here a couple of weeks ago with a problem I had, trying to get sound out of my sound card, and after I have tested a bit myself, I was wondering, does anyone else know about any incompability problems with PD and digidesign sound cards? I have a digi002 rack, running MacG5, OSX, and I don´t get any sound out of it through PD, though MIDI works, and sound works with the internal sound card, my M-Audio Ozone sound card. Would be great if anyone knows anything about this issue.

Incompability with digidesign?

I'd be interested to hear if you got it working - I tried to do the same thing a while ago, with no success. I seem to remember having reached the conlusion that it was impossible, but I don't remember a reason.

AFAIK Digidesign's ASIO is sketchy at best.
It's kinda like their business model (their software only really works with their hardware)
I have a 001 for use in PT but I have had problems using it in Logic and with PD.
I just tried it now and it's seemingly frozen!

Mbox/OS X works fine, so it probably is a model-specific problem. Firewire drivers, perhaps.
Good luck! -
I see, this is a more common problem with digi002... I think it's also quite weird that it doesn't work through Jack either (of course, in other programs which it normally will work with, it works with jack). I also have problems with Ardour and Audacity, but neither the M-Audio Ozone nor the digi002 works with Audacity here then.. Anyway, I wonder if it would be possible then, to send the audio to other programs, like for instance CSound, and make it sound there? How to test that out once..

Hmm.. funny.. I just tried install the extended version of PD, and now I get sound through the digi002! I must admit I have no clue about why it's so.. other than it might be one of the externals that supports the soundcard!
